History 1993 1999 April 2000 2007 June 2008 |
CTC-Japan was formed from Kyoto Densanshi Printing Company's (KDI) printing department's development unit. In 1993, KDI started variable printing services on continuous paper, and in 1999 began commercial printing on variable A2 size sheets. In 2000, CTC Japan was established as the Japanese distributor of laser printers made by America's CTC Company (now called Delphax). However, laser printers could not overcome the problem of high running costs due to the consumables and parts of print media, so development of a UV inkjet printer was started. It took some time to change from being a printing company to being an inkjet development company. However we developed an on-site, easy-to-use Windows-based system. In 2007, the SJ-300 360dpi UV Ink Jet Printer was developed and debuted at IGAS 2007. Then, in 2008, the faster and higher resolution SJ-500 600dpi UV Ink Jet Printer was released. Our experience as a printing company was absolutely essential in becoming a strong printing machine developer and manufacturer. We expect the need for variable data output operations to increase in the future. QR codes and country of origin information are becoming more commonly printed on food packaging to satisfy consumer needs and benefit society. GS1data codes, which can help prevent medical malpractice with chemical information and production history, are becoming common on pharmaceutical products. ![]() Hiroshi Nakagawa, President |
